About the challenge

The Young Youth Innovators Fall 2023 hackathon is a challenge for young innovators to use their skills and creativity to come up with solutions that address pressing issues facing our world. The hackathon is centered around four categories: sustainability, education, health and wellness, and social justice. Participants will be encouraged to think outside the box and develop innovative ideas that can make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

The challenge will provide participants with an opportunity to develop valuable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, while also gaining experience in using technology to address real-world problems. Participants will be supported by mentors and industry experts who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the hackathon.

 

Get started

To participate in the Young Youth Innovators Hackathon Fall 2023, interested participants should first register for the event through Devpost. After registration, participants should read the challenge categories and submission requirements.

We highly recommend that participants begin by brainstorming ideas for their projects and researching potential solutions to the challenges in their chosen category. Participants are also encouraged to form teams and collaborate with others to develop their ideas.

Throughout the hackathon, participants will have access to webinars and workshops hosted by industry experts, providing insights into how to develop effective solutions. Additionally, participants can connect with mentors who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the hackathon.

Participants can submit their projects on Devpost and should include a short video demo of their solution, a written description, and any relevant code or documentation. The submission should also include a brief overview of the team and their respective roles in the project.

We encourage all interested youth to take part in this exciting online hackathon and use their skills and creativity to make a positive impact in the world.

Requirements

What to Build

Participants in the Young Youth Innovators Hackathon Fall 2023 are required to build a working prototype or solution (such as website, app, product, etc.) that addresses a specific challenge in one of the following categories:

  • Sustainability
  • Education
  • Health and Wellness
  • Social Justice

Participants should use their skills and creativity to develop innovative solutions that have the potential to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. We encourage participants to think outside the box and push the boundaries of what is possible.

 

What to Submit

Participants should submit their projects on Devpost, including the following:

  • A short video demo of their solution (up to 3 minutes in length)
  • A written description of the project, including the challenge it addresses, the intended audience, and how the solution was developed. Be sure to include any relevant data, such as market research, user testing, or feedback from experts
  • A pitch deck (maximum 10 slides) that outlines the problem you're addressing, your solution, and its potential impact. Be sure to include any relevant data, such as market research, user testing, or feedback from experts

The submission should be clear, concise, and provide a thorough explanation of the solution developed by the team. Participants are also encouraged to include any additional information or resources that may help the judges understand and evaluate their project.
